Croak Privacy Policy

The short version

Croak does not collect any data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The app has no network access and no server behind it: everything you put into Croak stays on your device.

What Croak stores on your device

Croak keeps the things you create — your projects, boards and buttons, along with the audio files and images you import — in the app’s private storage area on your device. This data is never transmitted anywhere. It is included in your device backup if you back up to iCloud or a computer, in the same way as the data of any other app.

Croak also remembers two small settings locally: which app version you last saw (so the “What’s New” screen appears only once after an update) and the folder you last imported files from (so the file picker opens where you left off).

Permissions the app asks for

Croak asks for access to two things, and only when you use the feature in question:

• Your music library, if you want to import an audio clip from it. The audio is copied into Croak’s own storage. Croak does not read anything else from your library and does not send it anywhere.
• Your photo library, if you want to use a picture as the background of a button or a board. The selected image is copied into Croak’s storage. No other photos are accessed.

You can decline both, and Croak keeps working — you can still import audio through the Files app.

Sharing data with others

Nothing is shared automatically. If you use Croak’s export feature, the app creates an archive file and hands it to the iOS share sheet; where that file goes is entirely your choice. Croak is not involved in that step and keeps no copy.

The tip jar

Croak includes an optional tip jar. Payments are handled by Apple through the App Store; Croak never sees your payment details, and no purchase information is transmitted to me. All app features work regardless of whether you leave a tip.

Children

Croak collects no data at all, so it collects no data from children either.

Changes to this policy

If Croak’s behaviour ever changes in a way that affects this policy, I will update this page and the date at the top.
